Why We Chose Organic Tencel
At Tati Hawaii, we believe that fashion should be more than just a trend—it should reflect our values, and that’s why we’ve made the choice to create resort wear with a conscience. Our fabrics are the foundation of this commitment, and we’re proud to use Tencel Lyocell—the most sustainable fabric available on the market today.
Tencel Lyocell is made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, from eucalyptus trees that grow back from where they are cut. What sets Tencel apart is its closed-loop production process. This means that the solvents and water used to create the fabric are almost entirely recycled, reducing waste and conserving natural resources. In fact, Tencel is so environmentally friendly that it’s produced with minimal environmental impact, making it the fabric of the future.
In addition to being sustainably produced, Tencel Lyocell is also biodegradable, unlike many synthetic fabrics that linger in landfills for hundreds of years. By choosing Tencel, we ensure that our clothing doesn’t just have a minimal impact during its creation but will also safely return to the earth when it's no longer in use.
But we didn’t just stop at Organic. Our commitment to sustainability extends to low-impact dyes that are known to be more eco-friendly as they do not use toxic chemicals. Additionally, they have a higher absorption rate, meaning they require less water. Traditional clothing manufacturing uses over 8,000 synthetic chemicals, many of which are carcinogenic and hazardous to our health. We believe that what you put on your skin matters, and that's why we use only dyes that are gentle on both you and the planet.
We know that sustainable fashion can sometimes feel like an investment, but the difference it makes is truly worth it. Our Tencel pieces are designed to last, feel luxurious, and, most importantly, help protect the earth.
By choosing Tati Hawaii, you’re not only treating yourself to high-quality, timeless resort wear—you’re supporting a brand that’s striving for a cleaner, greener future.
Mahalo for being part of this journey with us!
