We proudly utilize sustainable materials, such as Organic Tencel, to create high-quality and environmentally-friendly products. Our commitment to ethical labor practices is unwavering, and we continuously strive to improve working conditions for all involved in our supply chain. We're dedicated to minimizing waste and reducing our carbon footprint, which is why we exclusively use eco-friendly packaging, avoiding harmful plastic bags, tags, and microplastic materials.

When our Tencel skirts get wet, they might feel slightly stiff, similar to linen. This is because natural fibers tend to react differently to moisture compared to synthetic fibers. If you find your skirt feeling stiff after hand washing or getting wet, we recommend tumble drying it on low heat for approximately 20 minutes. This gentle drying process can help soften up the fabric, restoring its natural drape and softness.

Organic Tencel is a sustainable fabric made from eucalyptus wood pulp that is sourced from responsibly managed forests. It's important because it's produced using a closed-loop process that minimizes waste and reduces the environmental impact of textile production. We use Organic Tencel in our products because it is a more sustainable alternative to traditional fabrics like cotton and polyester. Plus, it's super soft and comfortable to wear!
-
In traditional methods of producing textiles, a large amount of water, energy, and chemicals are used in the process, contributing to pollution and environmental degradation. However, the production of Tencel involves a significantly reduced environmental impact due to the closed-loop system. The solvent used in the process is non-toxic and recycled, and the water used is also recycled and reused. Tencel is produced using a natural, organic compound called N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) as a solvent. This solvent is biodegradable and doesn't produce harmful byproducts during production, unlike many other chemicals used in textile production. Overall, Tencel is a sustainable and eco-friendly fabric that is produced without harmful chemicals and with minimal environmental impact. Its closed-loop production system ensures that resources are conserved and waste is minimized, making it a responsible choice for consumers who prioritize sustainability.

Synthetic materials such as rayon, polyester, acrylic, nylon and spandex are man-made fabrics created from microplastics and chemical processes. While they are typically cheaper and more widely available than natural materials, they come with a host of environmental concerns. For example, the production of synthetic fabrics often requires the use of toxic chemicals and large amounts of energy, contributing to pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, these fabrics are not biodegradable and can take hundreds of years to break up in landfills, but they never break down like compostable Tencel, linen and organic cotton.
On the other hand, organic materials like linen and Tencel are made from natural sources and produced without harmful chemicals. Linen is a plant-based fabric made from the fibers of the flax plant, while Tencel is made from sustainably harvested wood pulp. These materials are generally more environmentally-friendly, as they require less water and energy to produce and can be composted at the end of their life cycle. They also are not made with pesticides and tend to be more breathable and comfortable to wear.
Overall, choosing organic fabrics over synthetic ones is a more sustainable choice for both the environment and our health. While synthetic materials may seem like a cheaper option upfront, the long-term consequences of their production and disposal make them a less appealing choice in the long run. Don’t forget that your body is your largest organ, so wearing organic, compostable materials is the better choice for your health!

To ensure that your Tati Hawaii products last as long as possible, we recommend delicately washing them in cold water by hand or using the delicate cycle of your washing machine, then hang dry or tumble dry on delicate/low. Avoid using harsh detergents or bleach, as these can damage the fabric. We also recommend storing your products in a cool, dry place to prevent any damage or discoloration.
